Childbirth Education/Preparation Workshop
This workshop helps pregnant couples prepare for birth by teaching about the birth process and a wide variety of coping skills. Whether you are planning to give birth in a tub at home or "get the epidural in the car", this class provides a basic foundation of normal birth. Rather than learning only one style or coping technique, couples will gain a variety of options, to leave feeling more confident and knowledgeable and able to make appropriate choices for their individual needs.
Childbirth Education Workshop Option#1-

Childbirth Education Workshop Option#2-

meditation and a variety of position changes.
• Thorough explanation of medication, technologies and surgical procedures for birth. This covers pain medication, routine hospital procedures, induction and c-section.
Meet the Doula
This is a monthly meeting and gives pregnant couples the opportunity to meet expert doula and understand a doula’s role in the prenatal, labor/delivery and postpartum phase.
Preparing for Postpartum
This workshop is not a parenting class, but an introduction to the experience of postpartum. It seeks to illustrate the expectable new mother experience and provide coping techniques, using real life examples of new mothers. Discussions cover the normal range of physical, emotional and logistical issues that new mothers confront immediately after the birth, focusing on the six major experiences, such as: I'm Tired; My Baby Cries A Lot; My Baby Needs To Be Held A Lot; My Baby Needs To Feed All The Time; I'm Stuck At Home; I Feel Like I'm In This Alone. The goal here is not on a particular style or method of parenting but to help mothers develop their sea legs and recognize that the normal experience of postpartum may be challenging but not "problematic."
